From desolate desert plains to wild savannahs, roaring lions and the squelch of wet elephant footsteps. Over the past two decades I’ve been incredibly fortunate to experience and capture much of the striking beauty and prolific energy of Africa.
My passion for the continent started when I moved to Botswana in 2002. Captivated by the vast landscapes, vibrant colours and warm locals, I was sold. With little previous knowledge of the country I was taken on a journey that to this day continues to fuel my passion for photography and travel.
Fortunately I’ve moved on from the old film point and shoot camera used to capture breath-taking scenes from the Central Kalahari and I’ve since shot thousands of images from some the most remote and awe inspiring locations in the south of the continent.

Over the past 15 years I’ve returned to Southern Africa on many occasions. Spending long periods of time in Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia. My photography has enabled me to document and share unique perspectives of these fascinating countries and through my Photo-Stories I hope to continue to inspire others to travel to this ancient and awe-inspiring continent, Africa!

A New Destination, A New Discovery
When John asked me to accompany him to Rwanda, a tiny country nestled in the heart of East Africa, I remembered studying the genocide in my Sociology BA and was saddened by the realisation that I had no recent concept of modern day Rwanda.
I was intrigued and excited to explore the contemporary face of the land of 1000 hills.
My task was to use the power of photography to explore what lay beyond the Volcanoes, Gorillas and Safari lodges, through a deep immersion into the many unique and intricate stories that are combining to change the face of this fast evolving nation.
The discoveries we made will be published in our upcoming photography book ‘Beyond A Thousand Hills’.

As we build our book, we look forward to sharing some of our experiences through this blog. I hope you’ll share your thoughts and interest with us…
